Ltd, its related corporations and affiliates, (collectively referred to herein as “Vallen”, “us”, “we” or “our”), as well as our respective representatives collecting, using, disclosing and sharing amongst themselves your Personal Data, and disclosing such Personal Data to Vallen’s authorised service providers and relevant third parties in the manner set forth in this Privacy Policy.

This Personal Data Protection Policy (“Policy”) sets out the ways in which the Vallen Singapore Pte. Ltd. (“Vallen”) collects, uses, discloses and retains personal information in order to carry out our activities and operations; and the measures we take to protect your personal information. The Policy is designed to meet the requirements of Singapore’s personal data protection laws.

By interacting with us, you agree to the terms of this Policy as updated from time to time. This Policy applies to all Vallen employees, non-employees, customers and content providers. From time to time, Vallen will update this Policy to ensure that this Policy is consistent with any changes in legal requirements. You are encouraged to periodically review this Policy to be informed of how Vallen is protecting your information.

In this Privacy Policy, “Personal Data” refers to any data or information about you from which you can be identified either (a) from that data; or (b) from that data and other information to which we have or are likely to have access. Examples of such Personal Data which you may provide to us include (depending on the nature of your interaction with us:

 

  • your name, telephone number(s), mailing address, email address and any other information relating to you which you have provided us in any forms you may have submitted to us, or in other forms of interaction with you;

 

  • information about your use of Vallen’s website and services, including cookies, IP address, subscription account details and membership details, but only to the extent that Vallen may identify you from such information;

Vallen collects and uses your personal information to operate Vallen’s website, deliver the goods and/or services you have requested, and to administer Vallen’s activities. Vallen may also contact you via surveys to conduct research about your opinion of current services or of potential new services that may be offered.

 

Vallen does not sell, rent or lease its member/customer lists to third parties. Vallen may share data with trusted partners in order to administer your membership, to help us perform statistical analysis, send you email or postal mail, provide customer support, or arrange for deliveries. All such third parties are prohibited from using your personal information except to provide these services to Vallen, and they are required to maintain the confidentiality of your information.

 

Vallen keeps track of the websites and pages our members and customers visit within Vallen, in order to determine what Vallen services are the most popular. If you are only browsing the website, Vallen does not capture data that allows it to identify you individually.

 

Where permitted under the Personal Data Protection Act, your Personal Data may be disclosed to Vallen’s Preferred Partners in connection with services offered by these Preferred Partners. Preferred Partners are organisations which share a business relationship with Vallen in areas such as marketing collaborations and co-branding.

 

However, please be assured that we do not disclose your Personal Data to our Preferred Partners for the purposes of the above unless your consent is expressly obtained.

 

Security of your Personal Information

Vallen secures your personal information from unauthorised access, use or disclosure. Vallen secures the personally identifiable information you provide on computer servers in a controlled, secure environment, protected from unauthorised access, use or disclosure. Vallen will not share your personal information with third parties without your permission, except if required by law or a court order to do so.

Withdrawing consent

 The collection and handling of certain personal information is necessary when you interact with us. You may, however, opt out of the collection and/or handling of your personal information for other purposes — including opting out of receiving marketing and promotional material from Vallen and the Sonepar group*1. You can do so at any time by choosing to unsubscribe from electronically-received publications, in writing to communications@vallen.asia or  fax (65) 6216-1601. If you opt out as mentioned above, you will no longer receive any communications from Vallen and the Sonepar Group in relation to these marketing and promotional offers but you will continue to receive communications from Vallen relating to your job application and/or enquiries you have sent to us.

 

Please note that if your Personal Data has been provided to us by a third party, you should contact such party directly to make any queries, feedback, and access and correction requests to Vallen on your behalf.

 

Please note that if you withdraw your consent to any or all use of your Personal Data, depending on the nature of your request, Vallen may not be in a position to continue to provide its products or services to you or administer any contractual relationship in place, and this may also result in the termination of any agreements with Vallen and your being in breach of your contractual obligations or undertakings, and Vallen’s legal rights and remedies in such event are expressly reserved.

We rely on you to ensure that your profile and contact information is accurate. Please let us know of any changes to your personal information. You may update the accuracy or completeness of such information, and request that corrections be made to it.
